David Harper is a mobile industry pioneer who in 2001 founded Winksite – a mobile content management and social networking software company whose solutions connect publishers to their audiences and audience members to each other. Winksite was the first standards-compliant mobile Website builder that included RSS-driven content deployment and mobile-tuned community features such as forum, chat, and polls.

David Harper co-founded the New York Chapter of MobileMonday. MobileMonday is a global community of mobile industry visionaries, developers and influentials fostering cooperation and cross-border business development through networking events to share ideas, best practices and trends from global markets.

As founder of Engagelogic – a privately held, New York-based enterprise software development and early-stage venture firm – David Harper has more than 20 years experience as an entrepreneur, technologist, patent-holding inventor, and senior level executive. David Harper has successfully founded several software development companies, one of which was sold to an investment bank after growing it from scratch to millions in revenues. During this time he served on the board of the Long Island Advertising Club and his interactive ad agency was a 4As member. David Harper has also been instrumental in capital raises and P&L for companies under management. His forward-thinking expertise in information architecture, user experience design, and content publishing has provided award-winning solutions for established brands.

David Harper has also co-authored several chapters in Politics to Go – a handbook on the political uses of mobile technology that anthologizes over 50 of today’s top names in technology and politics. The Politics to Go handbook was published by the Institute for Politics, Democracy & the Internet (IPDI) at The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management. His focus was on the use of mobile technology to reach the 18-34 year old audience.

MobileCampNYC3 will take place on Sat. November 15th (9:15am-6:00pm) at Microsoft’s NYC office in midtown Manhattan.

The idea is to have a dedicated track for all things related to QR Codes, Barcodes, RFID, and Physical Hyperlinking in general. For this track we will have 10 sessions dedicated to one room (although it is still possible to use free spots on the main grid.) I’m helping curate this track so please send an email introducing yourself if you would like to hold a session to dharper [AT] wirelessink [DOT] com. Also be sure to register below.
